Punctuation

An English professor wrote the words:
"A woman without her man is nothing"
on the chalkboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly..
All of the males in the class wrote:
"A woman, without her man, is nothing."
All the females in the class wrote:
"A woman: without her, man is nothing."
Punctuation is powerful!! : )

Hmm, maybe both versions above are actually true... Wink

It is said that in Russia a period once actually saved a man's life. The czar had condemned the man to death and sent this note to the jailer, who had been instructed to wait for orders: " PARDON IMPOSSIBLE. TO BE EXECUTED." The czarina, who felt sympathetic toward the prisoner, intercepted the note and changed the punctuation as follows: "PARDON. IMPOSSIBLE TO BE EXECUTED." The jailer there upon released the prisoner, who escaped from the country before the Czar discovered what had happened.

Yes it is amazing, Axelstone! Look at that nonsense:

That that is is that that is not is not is not that it it is.

Now it makes sense:

That that is, is.  That that is not, is not.  Is not that it?  It is.

A little riddle:
A man went into a restaurant and told the waiter he wanted to have lunch. He asked for the first course and when the waiter brought it, he didn´t like it and didn´t have anything. Then, the waiter brought the second course but he didn´t like it either. So, he left the dish full. Later, the waiter brought the dessert but the customer didn´t like it either and didn´t eat anything at all. Then, when the waiter brought the bill, the man wrote down in it "I004I80". Then, he left the restaurant without paying anything. What does that figure stand for?

Check your answer (if you find it out, I didn't Wink ), by highlighting with your cursor below (text is in white color and makes somehow sense):
>>> I owe nothing for I ate nothing

Glad you like it, MeNeRvA, here is another one:  The mayor of a town went on a visit to a school and found a teacher explaining the importance of punctuation marks. To make fun of the teacher for teaching such a trifle, the mayor wrote on the blackboard, “The Mayor says, the teacher is a fool.” “An excellent example,” the teacher said respectfully; “now watch a slight change in the punctuation.” And he wrote, “The Mayor, says the teacher, is a fool.”
