It's being discussed on another forum, and I did my best to explain it to my understanding, but she wants to hear it from a non-American Muslim. Stal, what I'm saying is that in the Quron, it does say that it's permissable to hit your wife.  If I remember correctly, it says until she stops the offending behavior or something of that nature. A person on another forum is using that to say that Islam is inherently bad to women.  I don't think it is anymore than the Bible, but I was seeking insight from those that know it better than I. YES .. somehow some of the religious texts refers to such a thing .. but all of them suggested hitting as a final act.. if the misbehavior of the women continues .. like cheating or doing awful things   but if we really look deeply in it not mentioning the religious point of view .. now days we have animal rights and even rodent and insects rights .. but till now we don't have women rights in our country   hitting wives ??? i mean who the hell has that right to do so ???   why when someguy marries somegirl he feels that he has the fool control of his wife .. he can forbid her from study, work or even her own parents !!!!!!!!!!   what's wrong with men that used to treat their wives with such attitude .. is it Testosterone or genes ???!!! the love of controlling a soul ??? .. or it's just the way that they used to see their fathers do to their mothers ??? or maybe the social environment ???   and what really makes me mad .. is the girls themselves ...   most of them all they can ever think about is how they can find true love and a man with extremely good money and looks .. it's their absolute dreams !!!!!!   they don't think of their future as a part of this world or even their impact that they can change the face of the world with ..   they don't trust their ability to do things other than just having babies, diapering , breast feeding , taking care of the man and his children !!!!   and that made men even more and more underestimating the women rights and abilities ..   so untill we ( females ) really wake up and make use of ourselves and not only a sex sympol .. we can ask for our human rights ..   god bless you .. :)       ومن يتقي الله يجعل له مخرجاَ ...    Report
