But I also think Israel overreacted to begin a war. I'm sad for everyone involved and hope Syria does not get involved in a war. How are you Utopia? Long time no 'see'! Was Stal banned really?

What you on about Lost Paradise? We've known for a while now Blair loves sucking up to Bush so it doesn’t come as a surprise to me or anyone else. If you're referring to Bush saying "shit", who cares really? I don’t anyway.
Yeah i am not too bad Miaa thanks and yourself? Dunno bout Stal, don’t think he got banned. Then again I haven’t been on here for a while now so i could be wrong.
Doubt Syria is going to get involved in this one to be honest. Never been a fan of Lebanon but i feel really bad for all these people that are suffering right now and for the number of innocent children that have been caught up in all this. Israel's response to the kidnapping of two soldiers is criminal and people like Olmert should be tried for war crimes. I mean did you see Britain sending their fighter jets to bomb Dublin when the IRA was active in the UK? Did you see Spanish tanks bombing cities in the Basque region whenever ETA bombed Madrid? Of course not, as you can't punish an entire nation for acts like this. They tell people to get out the city but at the same time they bomb all the infrastructure preventing people from actually being able to leave and they bomb van's filled with families trying to get out the southern areas. Do they really think they will get the security that they crave by doing this?
Utopia wrote:Assad has just released a statement asking for a cease-fire. What do you LostParadise "think" of that. "Ironic" ha?
well
first.... I want the killing to be stoped..... so I will support ceasing fire..... and I i cant see any irony in this particular position...... anyway..... I think ur watching too much tv I guess (espicially sky news and future tv!!)
second..... do u "think" that I agree with everything said by assad??!!
miaa wrote:Yes, it is bad stuff. You gave good parallels. I hate to get too much into the topic as I do not want to start an argument!
I thought its a straight forward topic...... so we (as a syrians) don't need to argue about it!
looks like I was wrong...... anyways...... I'm not in a mood of arguing either..... but do u really "think" israel is over reacting?!!..... sorry but do u mean that they should react..... but not in this way...... y3ne its ok for them to kill 10 ppl everyday..... but not 100!!!.... they should be a bit reasonable and reduce the number of ppl they kill each day..... ok.... good point dude...... the UN should give this idea some thought.... it will be a project for a good resolution indeed..... how thoughtful u are dear
you see..... no need to argue...... I told u its a straight forward case!!... and u won it
As opposed to you watching Al Mannar and Al Jazeera?
No thankfully i get to watch both sides of the news where obviously the truth must lie somewhere in between. Instead of constantly looking at the likes of Bush and Blair, why not get our own house in order first i.e. Assad and co.
You support a cease-fire as we all do, but Assad coming out with that now is a joke and a slap in the face to all the families who have been affected in this crises. Syria supplies the weapons, makes sure a war can take place and then after a week of complete catastrophy Assad comes out and asks for cease-fire. So the 300+ Lebanese people that have died (mainly children) all died for nothing basically.
If our own Gov'ts are slaughtering us, do you honestly expect anything else from the likes of Bush and Blair.

ok calm down..... calm down...... u have some points here..... forget about assad for a while..... and let me ask u something...... do u believe in democracy?
ofcourse u will say yes..... ok great..... hezbullah went through a free election and won 1/3 of the parlimental seats (along with amal movement)..... without using petrodollars like harirri as an example...... if u "think" (or got convinced from watching too much sky news as I said earlier.... which is a bad habit and u should do something about it) that assad is controlling hezbulla...... then u should go and blame ppl who elected hezbulla...... lets say assad is the ugliest dictator in the world..... but that is one thing and hezbulla is another...... in the western media they are trying to blame assad and syria over the whole thing...... and that really pissing me of!!..... come on ppl..... look at ur own shit and how bush is manipulating the whole political picture before asking assad or donkey or whoever to get the elected hezbulla to stop his "shit"..... cause that itself called interfering in the ppl willing and against democracy..... however its not true that hezbulla taking his orders from syria..... hezbulla ppl are so into almokawme thing..... and if u meet anyone from hezbulla u will know what I mean.
now..... as a syrian..... I saw how israel reacted against hezbulla military action in southern lebanon..... they are targeting civilians however hezbulla targeted militans...... ok..... what do u want me to say..... do u want me to ask assad to get hezbulla to stop his shit?!!..... or do u want me to ask for more kaeose in the middle east and ask assad to target israel with some mesiles rather than watching ppl in lebanon because I heard in the sky news that assad gave hezbulla the order to do what he did?..... or do u want me to start accusing hezbulla of stupidity cause I'm smarter than those who elected him in the first place?!!.... please tell me what should I do...... I'm really confused..... just give a hint
ok!!

no dear.... stalwart is not banned..... he's just trying to be funny by writing "banned" under his name
Why are you obsessed with Sky News? I told you I get to watch news on both sides of the story and from that I draw my own conclusions. I don’t need Sky News to tell me that Assad completely controls Hezballah just as I don’t need Al Mannar to tell me that the whole of Lebanon support Hizballah because I know both are not true.
You are asking me to forget about Assad and instead want to talk about Bush but why is this so? Don’t you accept that we as Syrians need to sort out our own problems internally before we expect other countries to respect us and treat us like we should? Of course Bush is an idiot but he's only doing this to the Arabs because he can, and the reason he can is because we have let ourselves become weak. We can keep on blaming people Bush and Blair for as long as we like but that’s not going to stop Arab children being killed. Its time to take matters into our own hands for once and for all.
You mention democracy in Lebanon when you know that Lebanon is a very special case where people vote simply based on religion. There is no country in the world like Lebanon as a matter of fact. They are so divided that they as a country will never have peace and stability. Sunnis hate Shiias, Shiias hate Christians, Christians hate Sunnis and so on. Although I support Hizballah right now they would never offer the Lebanese true democracy as you can’t have groups with such a strong religious background controlling the country. Note that I don't use the word extremists cause like I said I support Nasrallah and support Hizballah in their fight against Israel. Have you heard of the Lebanese Forces? These people despise anything related to Hizballah.
With regards to Israel's reaction, of course you are right. The response from the IDF is totally unacceptable and i said in another post people like Olmert should be tried for war crimes. What amazes me about Israel, is that they experienced so much pain and suffrage from Europe during the world wars and then they come and do this. In psychology that’s just like an abused child turning into a problematic adult no?
